After months of planning, the Mason
Community Garden is now open for business.
If you are interested in signing up for a
plot in the garden or would like to
volunteer your time in the community garden
plot, please fill out the attached form and
return it to the Zoning and Development
Department at 201 W. Ash Street, Mason, MI
Individual garden plots are 10 feet by 10
feet. Plot fee for individuals is $5.00 for
the season. Checks may be payable to the
City of Mason. The Mason Community Garden
will be located in the park area between
Sycamore Creek and North Jefferson Street on
the south side of the Hayhoe Riverwalk
Trailhead, east of Maple Grove Cemetery.

Please be sure to indicate if you would like
to participate in the community garden plot
where, as a group, gardeners will grow
produce and donate the harvest to a local
food pantry. There is no fee for
participating in the community garden plot.
However, a $5.00 donation is suggested to
help with start-up costs, such as seeds,
plants and miscellaneous supplies.
There will be a groundbreaking ceremony and
work day on May 22, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to
12:00 p.m. We will also give plot
assignments that day. All participants are
encouraged to attend.
