DDA WEBSITE

The Mason Downtown Development Authority was created in 1984 by action of the Mason City Council.  The MDDA was formed to prevent the deterioration of the buildings and infrastructure of downtown Mason and to promote economic development. The  Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The MDDA District consists of the buildings in downtown Mason and extends to include the Mason Antiques Market on Mason Street.  MDDA is funded through the "capture" of a portion of the real estate taxes paid by each property owner within the MDDA District.

In September, 2001 the MDDA created the position of part-time Executive Director. The position is held by Marco Broggio. Your MDDA is now embarking on a number of programs designed to promote and protect downtown Mason. MDDA is located at 201 W. Ash, Mason. You can contact the MDDA at (517) 244-MDDA. Our fax number is (517) 244-0252.

MDDA is grateful for the support and cooperation of the Mason Area Chamber of Commerce located at 148 E. Ash Street, Mason.

We hope you will visit this page often to check on our new programs as they are announced and implemented.

Welcome to Downtown Mason!
