MASON FIRE VEHICLE FLEET

 

Tower 808 is a 2001 Pierce Dash 2000 100 foot platform. It is powered by a 500hp Cummins diesel, with a 2000 gallon per minute Waterous two stage pump. It has an AMPS 10k generator, 300 gallon water tank and a pull compliment of ground ladders. The cab will hold up to 6 personnel and has air piped to the platform, 1000' of 5" supply hose, and also includes life rescue equipment for the platform.

Engine 809 is a 1990 Gruman with a 1250 gallon per minute pump and a 1000 gallon tank and is usually the first truck out for structure fires and car fires during the winter. This truck will hold up to 10 personal including a engineer and an officer.


Engine 806 is a 1984 pumper with a 1000 gallon per minute pump and a 1000 gallon tank. It is the first truck out on car fires during the summer and the second truck our during structure fires.

Tanker 807 is a 1984 3000 gallon tanker with a 500 gallon per minute pump and is the first tanker out when one is needed for our department or from other departments as this pumper is part of the Ingham County Tanker Task Force.


Brush 810 is a 1993 Dodge 4x4 pick-up truck with a 9 gallon per minute pump and a 100 gallon tank. This truck is used only for brush and wild land fires. Brush 810 also has a 5000lb winch and brush bar.

Tanker 811 is a 1983 International tractor with a 1947 trailer. It is equipped with a 650 gallon per minute pump and will hold up to 3000 gallons of water. The trailer was purchased from the Michigan DNR that hauled gasoline in its early days.


Ladder 818 is a 1973 Joyce that started is life as an engine, then in 1979 the Mason Fire Department decided it was necessary for a ladder truck, so the old slime yellow fire engine was driven to Union City where it had the current Snorkel unit installed with a 50 foot ladder. Ladder 808 has a 750 gallon per minute pump and a 300 gallon water tank and a full compliment of ground ladders.

Squad 815 is a 1992 Chevrolet 3500 with an ambulance box and is used to haul specialty equipments such as Surface Ice Rescue, Hurst Extrication Equipment and Confined Space Rescue Equipment. It is also used to haul extra SCBA tanks. The main purpose for this truck is Fire Fighter Rehab and Incident Command.


Utility 814 is a 1989 utility truck that is used to pull the fire department's Fire Safety House.
