Who is performing the work along the Sycamore Creek?
The project is being performed by a contractor retained by the Ingham County Drain Commissioner Patrick E. Lindemann. The work is also being performed via agreement between the Ingham County Drain Commissioner and the City of Mason.
What is the purpose of the project?
The purpose of the project is to provide habitat improvements within the Sycamore Creek as mitigation for the Bauer Drain project being constructed in White Oak and Stockbridge Townships.
This work is permitted by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (WRP023342 v.1).
Will the Hayhoe Riverwalk be closed during the project?
The Hayhoe Riverwalk may be closed intermittently during construction to safely move equipment and materials along the path. Check the construction status for closure status: www.bauerdrain.com.
How will users of the Riverwalk be kept safe during the project?
Construction personnel and flaggers will be staged along the Riverwalk to notify users of active construction areas and moving equipment. Delays and intermittent closures may occur as work is performed.
Who is paying for the work being performed along the Sycamore Creek?
The work along the Sycamore Creek is part of the overall Bauer Drain project and is being paid for by the Bauer Drain Drainage District. Neither the City of Mason, nor the residents of the City of Mason are required to pay for the work being performed along the Sycamore Creek.
What time will work start and end?
Work may occur from 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Saturday. Work is prohibited on Sunday and Ingham County recognized holidays and holiday weekends unless approved. Additional work time limitations will be coordinated with the City of Mason as needed for local purposes.
